Lead AI Architect

Location: Helsinki or Tampere preferred (hybrid, Finland only)  
 
Before any code is written, someone has to design the system that makes AI work: reliably, scalably, and with a purpose. 

At Brillian, that someone doesn’t just design, they also build. We’re hiring a Lead AI Architect who combines strategic thinking with deep technical execution. 

Our team helps companies explore what’s worth building with AI, why it matters, and how to make it real. From early ideas to deployed systems and MLOps automation, we lead with clarity and deliver with code. 

As a Lead AI Architect, you’ll take ownership of designing modern cloud-native AI solutions and infrastructure and contribute directly to their development. You’ll work closely with engineers, data scientists, product teams, and business stakeholders to build solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and built for real-world use - not just shiny prototypes. 

What you'll do 

• Design and implement full-stack architectures for AI-powered systems 

• Build core components yourself: from APIs and pipelines to model integrations 

• Translate business needs into secure, scalable cloud-native solutions 

• Lead delivery teams with both architectural vision and practical support 

• Evaluate technologies and infrastructure with a builder’s mindset 

• Work across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments 

• Develop systems that combine AI models (LLMs, agents, RAG) with robust backend and infra 

• Collaborate with stakeholders to align solutions with goals and make it real 

• Contribute code, review pull requests, and mentor others by example 

 

What we hope you bring 

• Strong software engineering skills: language or stack is less important than how you build 

• Experience designing and building cloud-native architectures on AWS, Azure, or GCP 

• Proven ability to deliver GenAI or ML-powered applications, some of which have reached production 

• Understanding of model orchestration, MLOps pipelines, and vector database patterns 

• Versatility across backend systems, APIs, containers, and infrastructure 

• A mindset that prioritizes clarity, practicality, and long-term maintainability 

• Solid communication skills: you work effectively across technical and non-technical teams 

• Bonus: experience from consulting or client-facing environments. 

 

This role is ideal for a senior engineer who has grown into architecture through experience, not someone looking to move away from code.
