With a PhD in Applied Physics, his career spans from cutting-edge research to developing and integrating AI models into complex technological systems. As our new Senior AI Scientist, Mika will be essential in expanding the ways in which we bring value to our clients with digital intelligence.
Experience from autonomous systems and mission-critical environments
Before joining Brillian, Mika has led multidisciplinary teams across academia and industry. Most recently, he has worked as an AI Lead in defense and security applications, developing advanced AI models for autonomous systems and mission-critical environments. His experience covers the full lifecycle of AI development, from concept design and model training to integration into complex, real-world systems.
Mika sees a strong alignment between Brillian’s approach and his own way of working: combining deep technical expertise with a clear focus on business impact: "For me, digital intelligence is ultimately about creating real value for customers: turning complex AI capabilities into solutions that genuinely improve decision-making and outcomes," Mika says.
In addition to his industry work, Mika has a strong entrepreneurial background as a Co-founder of Aikoa Technologies, a startup focused on predictive medical technology. His work combined AI, simulation, and clinical data to create solutions for personalized healthcare, highlighting his ability to bridge research and business.
Over the years, Mika has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and secured several million euros in research and innovation funding, demonstrating both deep domain expertise and the ability to turn ideas into impact.
